CertifiedMail Secures Pastel Accounting electronic invoices using the CertifiedMail Message Gateway™ December 2002

The South African Revenue Service requires that electronic tax invoices, credit and debit notes be encrypted with at least 128bit encryption.  Rising to the challenge CertifiedMail SA have re-engineered the CertifiedMail MSG Gateway so as to accommodate this process.

Using the CertifiedMail MSG Gateway™ any Pastel Accounting user may send their invoices encrypted with the benefit of Confirmed Delivery.

CertifiedMail secures UIF Declarations to the Department of Labour October 2002

Due to the risks of using e-mail on the public Internet, CertifiedMail have provided a Secure Message Gateway (CertifiedMail MSG™) to the Department of Labour.  All employers submitting UIF declarations may submit their files securely using CertifiedMail.

CertifiedMail and the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) have installed the CertifiedMail Message Gateway in an effort to increase the number of e-mailed UIF declarations to the Fund.  Instead of having to capture faxed submissions or reading faulty disks, the Fund automatically processes e-mailed UIF declarations. 

As of 1 April 2002 the UIF requires that all employers submit their UIF declarations on a monthly basis thus preventing fraudulent claims.  One of the ways in which this may be submitted is via e-mail.  Other mechanisms of submission are fax, disk or ftp.  Most payroll packages such as
VIP Payroll provide an output file of the UIF declaration and this may then be submitted securely using CertifiedMail.

BDB Data Bureau Implements CertifiedMail July 2002

BDB Data Bureau successfully implemented the newest CertifiedMail Message Security Gateway (CertifiedMail MSG™) software. The Gateway technology has been implemented to facilitate BDB to securely communicate financial data from its 1,500 customers including comprehensive payroll data.

The CertifiedMail Message Gateway is designed to facilitate high volumes of transactions which need to be processed in one central repository.  Certifiedmail's technology relies on users to authenticate over an SSL layer in a browser.  This posed some problems when clients such as BDB who receive up to 1000 payroll transactions a day.  In order to overcome this CertifiedMail released the CertifiedMail Gateway.

Files submitted to BDB using the Send Certified button or via the CertifiedMail secure website are received by the CertifiedMail Server and then passed over to the CertifiedMail Gateway.  A TLS session is then used to secure data traveling between Gateways.  As soon as the Gateway at BDB receives the mail it is then passed on to the internal mail server for processing.
